ABOUT HEATHER
I have a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, and a Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential from California. I am a pre-licensed counselor in Oregon.

My professional experience includes teaching elementary school, counseling elementary students and their families, developing and presenting educational and motivational curriculum for teachers and lay health care providers, teaching diabetes self-management, and working as a wellness coordinator and

music teacher. The common theme in all these roles has been teaching and facilitating wellbeing. I have spoken to audiences around the country about motivational and behavioral issues with diabetes. I have been living well with Type 1 diabetes since 1997.

My personal interests include reading, travel, yoga, trail running, hiking, and spending quality time with family and friends. Always an advocate for mind-body integrative health care, I have been studying and practicing mindfulness and meditation since 2002. My most powerful teachers have been my three young daughters. Like most people, I am humbled in my daily work to maintain balance and health!
